About the system
The Village maintains nearly 40 miles of public sanitary sewer main and delivers wastewater to the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District for treatment. Glencoe calls inflow and infiltration, or rainwater getting into sanitary sewers, a major problem in several North Shore communities. In 2017 it relaunched a condition assessment of its collection system under MWRD's Inflow and Infiltration Control Program.
Sanitary Sewer Flood Prevention Rebate Program
Glencoe offers a rebate for installing flood control systems and overhead sewer systems. Get the current application and amounts from Public Works or the Village's sanitary sewer page before you sign a contract.
